Adapted Physical Education is taught in the least restrictive environment where a student can safely pursue the goals of the physical education program. Many students with disabilities can learn in a general physical education class with their peers. A student with disabilities should only be removed from the general physical education class if the student’s disability is such that learning in the PE class, even with the use of supplementary aids and services, cannot be done safely.
