All students in grades K-12 must take physical education. There are no waivers or exemptions for students from New York State PE requirements. Students with chronic or temporary medical conditions or disabilities must be provided with instruction in physical education in the least restrictive environment. This may be through the general physical education program or a program of adapted physical education. Students with temporary or chronic conditions may receive Adapted PE through a 504 plan.
