Students who receive Adapted Physical Education (APE) should be participating in activities designed to meet the same outcomes of the general physical education program to the greatest extent possible. PE teachers adapt, modify, or change the tasks, equipment and content so that it is appropriate for the student with a disability. The goal is for all students to participate fully in an appropriate physical education program.
