There are three New York City Health Education Scope and Sequence documents:

DOE teachers and leaders developed these resources to help teachers plan curriculum. They align with State and national standards. 

 

These documents guide educators in using a skills-based approach to health education. Students learn, demonstrate, and practice the skills they need to make informed decisions about issues related to their health and to adopt healthy behaviors. Key components include:

  • Unit Summaries: List the health concepts and skills, essential questions, healthy behavior outcomes, and standards alignment for teach unit
