OUT for Safe Schools® is a national program that helps teachers, administrators, and other DOE employees “come out” as visible allies for LGBTQ+ students. Staff in the program learn how to start the program in their schools and how to build safer, more welcoming schools for LGBTQ+ students. They wear badges that identify them as allies for LGBTQ+ students.

The Office of School Wellness Programs offers trainings related to the program, including the Build an Affirming Community with OUT for Safe Schools® webinar. Check our Professional Learning Catalog (opens in new window) for training dates and registration links.
