The Office of School Wellness Programs requires schools to adhere to strict CHAMPS program requirements. Principals who nominate a teacher-coach must ensure the health and safety of students who participate in CHAMPS. The selected teacher must attend required courses and maintain valid certificates. Also, certificates must be uploaded to the WellnessHub for the principal to apply and request funding.
If a school is awarded funding, both certificates must remain active during the funded season. For example, the certificate must not expire during the listed season:
- Winter Season: Monday, November 20, 2023, through Friday, February 16, 2024
- Spring Season: Monday, April 8, 2024, through Friday, June 14, 2024
Required certificates must be acquired from an approved provider as shown in the table below:

Upload Certificates to the WellnessHub
Once the teacher-coach acquires the certificates, certification dates and a copy of the certificate are to be uploaded to the teacher's profile in the Wellness Hub.
